Short-Term Mission Trips provide the opportunity to be at work for Christ, full-time for a limited number of days. Whether you are a student on Spring Break or a Mom and Dad with kids able and willing to serve their community, we seek to provide opportunities for you to practice walking in Jesus footsteps in a different setting, blessing someone in a way outside your usual life pattern. Check out the many opportunities at hand!
Teams from First Pres visit Cuba a couple times a year to help an indigenous para-church ministry grow. This ministry builds unity among the Protestant churches of Cuba, operates a cooperative farm providing food for 3,000 local people, and resources for pastors from outlying areas. The team also works with a ministry serving Cubans with disabilities. Contact the Missions Department at email@example.com for more information.
Family Mission Trip
During Spring Break, families from First Pres join hands with Casas Por Cristo to build a home for a family in the border town of Acuna, Mexico, or Guatemala. In just four days, the team transforms an otherwise empty lot into a safe and secure home - complete with cement foundation, electricity, windows, doors, drywall, and insulation. For information on how to join this trip, please contact the Missions Department at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hurricanes, fires, and floods are disastrous events. As God leads us, we try to participate in relief efforts. Most recently, we have sent teams to help rebuild homes in New Orleans, Houston and Port Arthur, Texas. Contact the Missions Department at email@example.com or more information.
Messenger is a summer long international mission experience for College students in our Annex Program. It's an opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and grow in your faith in a lasting way. Because of Jesus we believe that we are able to cross cultural barriers to serve alongside others, allowing for a glimpse of the Kingdom to come here and now. High school mission trip will be in Ensenada Mexico for the 3rd year in a row now. We break into teams and work with the local staff in areas such as construction, VBS, sports, and medical. Each team puts hours of prep before arriving and once there we cater to the needs of that specific area. After our outreach hours we hold program for the students of Boulder County to share their stories and hear from their friends and peers on real life and about Jesus. The 20th annual Middle school mission trip will be to Alamosa, Colorado. We work with Habitat for Humanity building homes for those in need in the San Luis Valley. Every year we get to know the community that much better, and we have established a long lasting friendship with those who work and live in this community. Our students also serve one another by cooking meals for each other, sharing stories, and working as teams at the work site. It has been a wonderful trip, and we are looking forward to yet again another time in Alamosa. Click to learn more about the Middle School Ministry.
