What We Believe
First Pres is approaching the 150th anniversary of its life together. Throughout the generations, God has been faithful to this church in downtown Boulder. While the Core Values have been newly articulated, these same commitments have been the foundation of life and ministry of First Pres Boulder since the beginning:
He transforms lives as He is encountered in scripture and community.
We pursue God’s heart for a flourishing city and beyond.
We follow Jesus’ example in inviting and discipling younger generations.
God meets and shapes us as we submit to His Spirit.
We worship and serve together, side by side.
We invest in emerging disciples for the next generation of gospel leaders here and around the world.
The life of First Presbyterian Church is enriched by the many different kinds of service offered by members. This represents an expression of Paul’s view of the church as the body of Christ, with each member contributing to the health of the whole. (I Corinthians 12)
Congregational leadership is an important area of service in the church. Each year, the congregation calls members who have been regular in worship, active in the life of the church, generous in support of our ministry, and faithful in their life and witness to the gospel, to serve as: trustee, elder or deacon.
First Pres Boulder is a vibrant, evangelical congregation located in downtown Boulder, CO. We are biblically based, seeking to be guided by the Spirit and the Word. As a large church, we desire to develop personal relationships among our members, to provide effective outreach to the community, and to integrate diverse programs into the life of our church. Our desire is to equip our church family to be "salt and light" in the midst of our community.
