Purpose:
To serve the Lord by maintaining a warm, friendly, safe facility
for the congregation and their friends and to monitor the
church financial conditions.
Qualifications to serve as a Trustee:
1) A person of mature Christian faith.
2) Must be a pledging member of First Presbyterian Church
with regular worship attendance.
3) An individual with skills related to maintenance of facilities,
legal or financial affairs of the church.
4) An individual called by God and elected by the congregation.
Responsibilities:
1) Attend the monthly Board of Trustees meeting (third Tuesday
of each month).
2) Serve as the Trustee representative on Trustee or Session
sub-committees. Current committees are:
Budget & Finance Personnel
Congregational Nominating Stewardship
Facilities Technology
Facilities Redevelopment (currently inactive)
Interior Design
3) The time commitment for a Trustee is approximately ten-twelve
hours a month.
Organization:
1) The Board of Trustees is composed of nine members. Three
Trustees are elected each year for a three-year term.
2) The Board of Trustees elects a president, vice president
and secretary each year.
3) The Board of Trustees advises Session and serves as a
resource to the Business Administrator and Facilities Manager.
4) The Board of Trustees has responsibility for:
a) Reviewing the annual audit.
b) Reviewing necessary upgrades to the physical plant
c) Supervision of new construction.
d) Developing and administering adequate insurance for
the church.
e) Overseeing technology upgrades
