A full home-made meal, complete with all the fixin's, is offered free to the community each Thanksgiving day.
Dozens of turkeys are roasted in the church kitchen ahead of the meal, filling the building with mouth-watering aroma. Then, on Thanksgiving morning, dozens of volunteers join the Deacon committee to decorate, arrange, cook, serve, share and clean-up.
This annual event is a rich and blessed opportunity for members of First Presbyterian Church to join with community volunteers, individuals and families from miles in and around Boulder to break bread together. Many types and sizes of participation are available for anyone interested:
- Donating pies or salad side dishes
- Setting up tables
- Cooking with the kitchen crew ahead of Thanksgiving
- Cooking team on Thanksgiving
- Serving the meal
- Cleaning up
