New Orleans Mission Teams Forming
Ready to go to New Orleans? New Orleans
is ready for you! The “gutting” phase of Hurricane Katrina
recovery is over and the re-building has begun. Canal Street Pres, our
sister church in New Orleans, has retained the services of Jerry Dixson
as their Work Site Coordinator. Jerry is an experienced craftsman with
a passion for church outreach and a personality people relate to easily.
Here is where you fit in. People are needed to serve on
one week mission teams. No skills needed, but people with construction
skills will be a valuable asset. Jerry will provide instruction, direction
and support as the homes get put back together. You work as hard as
you are able and come away with skills you never had. Even more, you
leave with the satisfaction of having helped a family return to their
home. Interactions with the owners, fellow team members, and people
from Canal Street Pres provide immeasurable joy and lasting memories.
Teams will be staying at
Canal Street Pres and preparing their own meals. We anticipate
two people from each team of twelve will round up groceries, cook
meals, and still
have the opportunity to visit the worksites.
Cost? Airfare to New Orleans and a few incidentals.
