Sharing in the Sufferings of Christ (9 a.m.)

Peter comes back to the subject of suffering because he is a Christian realist. All people suffer at some times and in some ways. It is a part of living in an imperfect world. Yet here he tells them do not be surprised of you suffer because of your faith in Jesus Christ. Christians around the world can lose everything because the are Christians. As we gather in communion and remember Christ's suffering for us how does this link us with those who are in places where a "painful trial" is an every day experience? How are we blessed, when we are "insulted because of the name of Christ?" How does Christ's suffering bring joy to those who follow him?
