Grace Growth
In Greek culture the heir of the parent’s place and property did not, as a child, have the freedom of that place and property. The child was under the direction of one who taught and prepared an heir to move toward the freedom of being an adult. Paul compared the law to this prepatory step, but the freedom of spiritual maturity comes with the costly grace of being a new person in Christ. We have the spirit of the Son of God in us. We enter into a new relationship with the Father (Abba). What keeps us from this freedom? What rules or “elemental principles of the world” keep us enslaved?
