Culture and Redemption
God’s eternal Word came to humankind in human form (John 1:14). He came at a certain time, in a particular culture to bring a redemption to all times and cultures. The Ruth story is set in a culture that seems, by its customs and rituals, strange to us. Yet the eternal God is at work here. What risk is being taken here? By Whom? What does this say to us?
