Outreach & Service

God's overarching plan for the world is that people from all nations will worship Him. As we worship Him, we experience the joy of being close to our Creator and Savior. “Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! Let the nations be glad and sing for joy!” (Ps 67:3,4). Worship is much more than the worship service on Sunday mornings in the church. It includes lifting our prayers to God, enjoying his wonderful creation, and aligning ourselves with God in his great plan by serving others. Serving can take many forms including the ones listed below.

Glory Community is a ministry that will provide housing for adults with functional developmental disabilities with special needs such as those with Down syndrome, autism, and other challenges. The community will eventually include 5 houses.

The session of First Pres has graciously agreed that for the next 18 months or so (till Sept. 2012) our church will partner in a focused way with fund raising for Glory Community. The land has been purchased so these funds will go for construction costs.

Compassion International Sponsor a child and develop a life-changing relationship or join the First Pres. Compassion team.	Cookies on Call Bake cookies for funeral receptions and other events.
Deacon’s Closet Donate clothing and household goods or help collect, sort and distribute those items for people in need in Boulder.	Doorways Teach English to international women who are living in Boulder while their husbands are here for business or study.
Fifth Sunday Lunch Cook and serve lunch for those in need on the 5th Sunday of the month.	Habitat for Humanity Build affordable housing in Boulder and Broomfield Counties in partnership with low-income families.
Health Ministry Volunteer with the Parish Nurse and Health team.	Kids Hope USA Mentor a student at a nearby elementary school and help a child develop confidence.
Lamb’s Ministry Serve breakfast, lunch, attend Bible Study, or help provide other services to those in need.	Landscape & Gardening Plant and take care of the flowers and gardens on the church grounds.
Prayer Chain Pray for confidential requests sent in to First Pres.	Work Krew Work with a team to refurbish, repair and improve the church facilities.
Thanksgiving Dinner Prepare and serve Thanksgiving dinner for the larger community of Boulder.	Angel Tree Donate and deliver gifts to children of prisoners on behalf of the parent that is in prison.
Get Involved at First Pres Join one of the many teams that serves the members of our church family.	Get Involved in Boulder County Serve the communities of Boulder County in many ways.
Mission Trips Participate in national and international ministries by going on a short term mission trip. The Sonke Foundation is bringing hope to the people, especially the children, of the Molweni Valley in South Africa by providing basic needs, opportunities for eduction, and assistance in achieving self-sustainability through employment and business development.
