The purpose of First Presbyterian Church of
Boulder's Missions Ministry is to be faithful to Christ's
Great Commission that
we read in Matthew 28:18-20: "All authority in heaven and
on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father,
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you
always, to the very end of the age."
Our ministry serves those who have gone out from our church
family to serve Christ in missions whether they are in
the local area, the United States, or around the world.
We seek
to be faithful to a slogan often heard around the missions
department, "Our money follows our people." Our heart follows
our people as well, and we endeavor to be the best supporting
church for those who have been raised up to vocational
Christian service through this congregation.
Our ministry seeks to serve those who have never heard the
name of Jesus and thus have never had the opportunity to confess
his name by faith and enter into a personal relationship with
God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We have an abiding interest
in supporting efforts to share the gospel and plant churches
where they have never been before.
Our ministry also serves those with whom we partner in ministry
through our giving in the missions budget. Through financial
gifts, prayer, and personal support of various kinds, we
seek to encourage those who have given their lives in service
to
the Lord Jesus through various ministries.
