Our
global missions ministry seeks to serve
the emerging church
from the "Two Thirds World." There are now
more Christians in the southern half of the
world than in the northern half, the traditional "sending
and supporting" areas for Christian mission.
These vibrant churches are leading the
church universal in mission service in
a variety
of ways. We seek to contribute to the growth
and maturity of this emerging church through
mission partnership. |

| David and Vreni Greenlee |
David and
Vreni have served with Operation
Mobilization (OM) for nearly 30 years.
For many years they were part of the ship
ministry of OM, including the original “Logos”,
the “Logos II”, and the “Doulos.” Since
summer 2006 the Greenlees are based at
OM’s office in Switzerland, Vreni’s
home country. David serves the mission
in research and strategic planning and
Vreni serves both in the home and with
our team in the office. David’s work
involves helping OM leaders work through
missiological issues, teaching and writing,
and helping plan strategies for some new
initiatives. Ongoing research and writing
projects reflect David’s interest
in gaining understanding in how people
are coming to faith in Christ. Other recent
projects have included topics such as why
people are joining Operation Mobilization
and helping our European leaders define
their shared ministry vision as well as
teaching in Bible colleges and seminaries
in South Asia in 2007. From October 2007,
David will serve for one year as OM Spain’s
interim field leader. Jonathan attends
John Brown University in Arkansas and Sarah
is completing high school through an online
school while Rebekka, a 2007 college graduate,
will be working in Switzerland. David’s
publications include From the Straight
Path to the Narrow Way: Journeys of Faith (editor,
2006) and One Cross, One Way, Many
Journeys: Thinking Again about Conversion (2007),
both published by Authentic.

Puerta Al Mundo is a new
Honduran interdenominational mission agency
that is committed to sending Hondurans
to unreached people around the world. While
many years of prayer and missions mobilizing
have laid a foundation to this work, it
was in 2005 that the mission was formed.
The mission was initiated by two churches
from an urban slum area. They invited Servant
Partners to help them set up a platform
for sending Honduran young people to the
unreached. Even amid their own struggle
with poverty, these churches have a vision
to share the gospel with those who don't
know Jesus. There is a growing mission
movement from the poor of Honduras with
many, many young people eager to give their
lives for the unreached. Puerta Al Mundo
is currently preparing workers for India
and North Africa. On-going support for
these missionaries comes from their local
context while large one-time expenses (airfare,
medical insurance, training) comes through
partnerships with outside organizations.
First Pres has been one of the initial
donors assisting this emerging missions
movement.

Ian and Teri have been working under Campus Crusade for Christ in France for
almost thirty years. They were involved initially in establishing the CCC student
work in France and have been engaged in multiple projects with a variety of
churches since that time.
In the past 12 months, they have entered into partnership with another
mission called Alongside Ministries International. True to its name, Alongside
places culturally-sensitive Christian workers inside national churches to serve
alongside local pastors. Under this partnership, Ian and Teri are serving as
Directors for Western Europe, mentoring the younger workers and developing
further contacts among receiving churches. Their area of responsibility includes
France, Scotland and Berlin, Germany. In many ways, this new partnership is
enabling them to fulfil their original vision of 'training the next generation
of Christian leaders'.
Closer to home, Ian and Teri are involved in outreach through their local church,
notably in conjunction with the Alpha course. Ian is an elder in the church
and Teri is a trained lay counsellor and teaching leader with Community Bible
Study (CBSI). The Geneva area, where they have lived for the past five years,
is a highly cosmopolitan and strategic center for reaching the world-wide community.

Richard and Rachel
serve with Operation Mobilization, based
at the U.S. headquarters
in Tyrone, Georgia, along with their two
teenage sons, Simon and
Jonathan. Richard was born in England and has served with OM since 1976 and
has ministered in 100 countries. He currently serves as an International Speaker
for OM. He has worked in India and aboard OM s mission ships - Logos, Doulos,
and most recently as associate director on board Logos II. As a speaker, trainer
and mobilizer, Richard travels extensively in the States and internationally.
His passion is to see the church turned inside-out, so that the world can be
turned upside-down. Rachel (Oerter) was first sent out by First Pres in early
1981 to serve with OM where she met Richard while serving on the first Logos
ship. Here at the USA office, she helps Richard with some administration amidst
his many travels, accompanies Richard on some of the ministry trips, holds
the home front, and practices hospitality with the many missionaries and others
who come through the OM base.

Servant
Partners works with the urban poor all
over the world, assisting with the creation
and development of new local churches and
organizations that will seek to be ministers
of reconciliation and transformation in
the urban poor community. Anna is
a part of the Servant Partners team in
the slum community of Nueva Suyapa, Honduras.
The team is working alongside a group of
Honduran leaders in the creation of Honduras'
first interdenominational missions sending
agency. While the vision and leadership
for this new agency has come from leaders
in Nueva Suyapa, Servant Partners has been
instrumental in helping to develop full
time indigenous leadership for the agency
and in the creation of the supporting base
of the agency, including a Honduran board
of directors and a network of supporting
businesses. As the other members of the
team work with the development of the agency
administration and local business development,
Anna will work with the creation and development
of a training program for the agency. Anna
also helps to coordinate the annual training
for new Servant Partners staff from Latin
America.

Mike and Lorna
have finished the Quioquitani Zapotec translation
of
the New Testament, it is recorded on cassette
tape, and the Luke video has been dubbed
in the native language. A small but growing
and very missions-minded church has been
established in Quioquitani that is using
the Quioquitani Zapotec New Testament.
Mike and Lorna feel that their main mission
to the Quioquitani has been accomplished.
Because of Lorna’s on-going health
issues and an urgent need for help at the
SIL translation center near Tucson, they
have relocated to that center and serve
in support roles, helping their colleagues
in Mexico complete the work of the Bible
translation there. Mike is the Translation
Coordinator for the Mexico Branch, and
he also works in finance half time. He
continues work on the Quioquitani dictionary
and makes his language data available to
those in Mexico who are working in related
Zapotec dialects. Lorna is currently assisting
the Personnel Coordinator.
