Purpose:
The purpose and prayer of those involved in
the Elementary Education program at First Presbyterian
Church, Boulder is to see elementary students mature to a
personal
relationship with Jesus Christ through the teaching and
modeling of the Word.
We believe that it is only by the direction of the Holy
Spirit, and in partnership with parents and the larger community
of the body of Christ, that we impact the spiritual growth
and understanding of the children. It is our prayer that
each student in our program will become a disciple of Jesus
Christ.
Our Elementary Education Ministry serves children in first
through fifth grade.
Sunday School-Sundays at 9:30 a.m.
The elementary Sunday school is an opportunity for children
to hear about God’s love for them and God’s
goodness and faithfulness, through Bible stories and the
personal narratives of their Sunday school teachers. It
is a time for children to strengthen ties to the
family of God, to sense that they belong to something much
bigger than themselves, and to grow in their own identity
as followers of Jesus. Parents are always welcome and
encouraged to visit our classes.
- First/Second Grades
During the fall quarter the life focuses will be “Because
God made me, I know He loves and cares for me,” “My
actions can show my trust in God and help others,” and “It
pleases God when family members love and respect each
other.”
- Third/Fourth Grades
During the fall quarter the life focuses will be “When
we see God’s greatness, we want to worship Him,” “We
can make choices that show we believe in God and want
to follow Him,” and “Treating others in ways
that show God’s love helps us build friendships.”
- Fifth Grade
The first semester, students will take a look at the basics
of Christianity and then compare the teachings of Christ
to other major world religions.
