First Presbyterian Church
of Boulder is a part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), the largest
Presbyterian denomination in the country with approximately
2.5 million members. More information on the organization
and activities of the PC(USA) may be found on the PC(USA) website.
The denomination contains about 180 different Presbyteries;
we are a part of the Presbytery
of Plains and Peaks, which includes about 40 churches
in northeastern Colorado and western Nebraska.
Our church takes seriously its role in the Presbytery and in the PC(USA)
as a whole. The Denominational
Concerns Committee oversees our participation in the ministry of these
larger bodies and works to discern the positions God calls us to take when
matters of
controversy arise in the denomination.
We are also involved in a number of mission and renewal efforts within
the PC(USA). Below is a partial list of efforts we support, along with other
