Coming to the Table Communion Class
Dear Parents of Fourth and Fifth Grade Students,
You and your child are invited to our four session class, Coming to the Table, An Introduction to the Lord’s Supper. This class, taught by key leaders in our church, is designed to assist parents in explaining the significance and importance of Baptism, Communion and Community.
The class is taught once a year typically in January. The next class will begins January 9,2011. The class is taught on 3 consecutive Sunday mornings and finishes with a tour of the Sanctuary on a Saturday morning.
Additional Information you will want to know-
- At least one parent must accompany their child to the class.
- Class size is limited to twenty children and their parent(s). The curriculum is written for children in fourth and fifth grades but younger children can participate if the parent feels the child is ready. Priority will be given to the oldest students if class numbers become a concern.
- A fourth grader who cannot attend all four classes, is encouraged to register for a later class.
- Children who have not been baptized are welcome to attend the class since the class does not conclude with a communion service. Children nine years or older who have not yet been baptized may be baptized on their own profession of faith with their parent’s permission at a time arranged with the pastoral staff.
Because we seek to honor the time of our pastors and teachers, the class is offered only with a minimum of eight children so please register. To register please visit our Coming to the Table event page and select rsvp.
