Many of you have told us how much you love running into people from First Pres in your neighborhood, especially when you didn't know they lived in your area! There is something special about seeing familiar faces from church where we live:  at the grocery store, at the park, or while out on a walk.

With this in mind, the Community Life committee is introducing RINGs or  Relational, Intentional, Neighborhood Groups.  These groups are intended to provide opportunities for you to get to know your neighbors from First Pres.  Our hope is that RINGs will:

  • Give you a chance to “rub shoulders” with those who live nearby and get to know your neighbors by name.
  • Bring our church life closer to our “real” life.  Our church isn’t our building; it is the people who make up the body of Christ – wherever we live day to day!
  • Be very open.  All are welcome!  Neighbors and friends who don’t belong to First Pres are just as welcome as church members and regular attenders.
  • Ask very little of you.  All we want is for you to show up!  (And at most, bring a potluck dish to share.) RINGs will meet just a couple times a year.
