Pastoral Search Update - December, 2011
Your PNC representatives can really use your prayers; it has been a taxing search process that has spanned many months. We know you are anxious to learn more and we trust God’s timing as we diligently seek a “call."
As we have gotten to know many Christian leaders across the country, we have read about, discussed, interviewed, visited, and prayed over some amazing candidates and we seek the best match for our FPC Mission Study.
Like you, we know the journey has encompassed extremes: it’s been both emotionally arduous and spiritually enlightening; it’s been frustratingly slow and tantalizingly close. Throughout, we know God has been guiding our every decision.
Please pray for our candidates, please pray our church’s continued unity, progress, and grace, please pray for the work God is doing, and will continue doing, in Boulder and beyond. For more suggestions on how to pray, please visit the Pastoral Search page.
Join us as we take a look at our church, our wider community and the ways that our gifts impact those around us. We’ll be looking at Jesus’ church and the heart that God has for his people as we walk with him, give freely and ‘live out’ the Kingdom of God. Visit the Stewardship page to biew a four-part video series highlighting various populations and the impact of the local church around us. “I will magnify him with thanksgiving.” - Psalm 69:30b. Session's Latest Responses to Ordination Standards
- At its meeting on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, the Session approved three motions in response to recent denominational changes in ordination standards (specifically, the passage of Amendment 10A). These constitutional changes mark, for many of us, a significant movement away from historic, biblical sexual ethics and have raised distress in quarters of our congregation and the PC(USA). We want you to be aware of what we decided. Click here to learn more.
